Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) and Western Washington University's Environmental Science and Environmental Studies Departments have collaborated to create two academic certificates. These certificates combine academic learning, hands-on training and paid internships that give students training and experience needed to apply a variety of skills to critical work in watershed restoration and community education and engagement. Participants of this talk will learn about this partnership, what internships at NSEA look like, and how WWU students can apply to the program.
The Environmental Speaker Series is free and open to the public. Talks are held each Thursday at 4:30pm in Academic Instructional Center West, room 204. Join us at WWU or online on Zoom!

Sarah moved to Washington after receiving her degree in Marine and Freshwater Science from the University of Texas at Austin and first joined NSEA for the 2018-19 AmeriCorps term. Her favorite part of our work is being able to connect the community to local restoration efforts and salmon education which is why she returned in early 2020 to manage NSEA's stewardship programming.
