Check out this video to watch the Celebration of Life: Dr. Michael Seal.

You're invited to celebrate the life of Dr. Michael Seal, who passed away on October 29, 2021. His legacy is felt in the many alumni and friends who sought the exciting research possibilities of the Vehicle Research Institute. For decades, the VRI has been a launching pad for many innovators and disruptors among WWU students and alumni. Dr. Seal began his journey at Western in 1969 and established the VRI in the early 1970s. He retired in 2004. Join us in celebrating the spirit and energy of Dr. Seal, who once said "When WWU asked me to start this program back in '79 I never dreamed we'd accomplish what we have. I just set about doing what I always do: making cars that are lighter, faster, and more efficient in every way. Together we've harnessed the power of the sun and the common dairy cow. Who knows what's next!"

The family invites you to read the tribute posted on Dr. Seal's memorial website and share your memories in the comments.

Note: To protect those who are vulnerable, the family will be taking COVID precautions and ask that you mask up while inside the facility. Refreshments will not be served.
