Film Screening and Conversation with Co-Director Nicolás Trotta
Brought to you by the WWU International Affairs Association, Institute for Global Engagement, Latin American Studies, and Political Science Department in partnership with the WWU Alumni Association
On the heels of Brazil’s most polarized and consequential election in recent history, the much-lauded documentary film Latinoamérica: Territorio en Disputa (2019), is now more salient than ever. In the film, Argentine directors, Nicolás Trotta and Esteban Alfredo Cuevas, take us on an expansive journey through South America, revealing the region’s geographical and cultural diversity as they set out to understand the recent emergence of populist rightwing movements and what they mean for the future of the progressive Left.
Join us for a live screening of the film, followed by faculty-led discussions and a Q&A with co-director Nicolás Trotta.

Co-director and former Argentine Minister of Education
