Join Huxley professor and FoodWISE author Gigi Berardi to take a unique look at sustainable foods and farming in Whatcom county. You'll be surprised at the scale and impact of truly sustainable farming and some of the tastiest foods you can imagine!

  • 8:45 a.m. - Meet at Twin Sisters
  • 9:00 a.m. - Leave for tour 
  • 9:40 a.m. - Arrive at Randy Honcoop. Honcoop berries. Tour of berry operations, the fields and the barns. Discussion of water management and sustainable water in Whatcom county, also Integrated Pest Management
  • 10:45 a.m. - Arrive Larry Stap/Twin Brook Dairy. Sustainable entrepreneurship and product tastings
  • 12:15 p.m. - Arrive Lindsay/Twin Sisters Creamery. Sustainable entrepreneurship and fresh product tastings
  • 1:30 p.m. - Return to Twin Sisters Brewery for lunch

Van transportation and lunch will be provided.

Gigi Berardi is an internationally-renowned food writer, who herself is a farmer and cheesemaker and will be your host for the day. We will be joined by some of Huxley's enthusiastic students who also are in the food trades! Experience a tour you'll never forget, culminating with a Twin Sisters Brewery lunch!
