Interested in influencer marketing but don't know your TikTok from your Clubhouse? Please join WWU Marketing Professor Ed Love in a conversation with influencer marketers and Western Marketing Alumni Kelly Harp, Abigale Coleman, and Tiffany Phung as they explore one of the biggest trends in marketing today. You'll learn about the new social, how brands are using influencers to build engagement, what gets clicks, and what goes down behind the scenes to make it all happen.
After graduating from WWU's CBE in 2013, Kelly has worked in digital marketing for the past 8 years. She started as a social media intern at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma before she joined the digital team at PR agency in Portland, Oregon. At the agency she worked with food & beverage clients to grow their online presence using a variety of social media tactics, including influencer partnerships. A direct result of partnering with influencers across the country, she successfully grew a brand's Instagram following by 2,000 followers in just one week. Today, Kelly is on the Digital Communications team at Pierce Transit, and will be celebrating her 2-year anniversary this April.
Tiffany Phung is a social media strategist by day, and photographer by night -- she studied Marketing & IBUS at Western and graduated March 2020. Now Tiffany is a Social Associate at Alo Moves, moderating all of their Instagram DMs and stories. She’s also a Social Manager at Doe Lashes, overseeing organic social media and influencer marketing strategy. Tiffany is passionate about all things social media and finding ways to bring brands closer to their audiences in an authentic way.
A recent 2020 graduate, Abigale is now pursuing a career within Social Media + Influencer Marketing within the Personal Care and Cosmetics industries. Driven by popular culture, Abigale specializes in content curation, integrated marketing communications, and influencer relations. When she's not helping brands build and establish their online presence, Abigale can be found organizing editorial photoshoots, exploring the latest makeup trends, and soaking up sunsets on the bay.
Ed Love is a Full Professor of Marketing and Department Chair at Western Washington University, where he has taught since 2008. He has his Ph.D. in Marketing from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. His research publications examine marketplace morality, preference formation, ethical standards of judgment, decision theory, marketing strategy, choice modeling, and innovation.
