The federal policy response to COVID-19 is unprecedented. The $2 trillion in financial aid support and direct cash payments from the CARES Act brought immediate assistance to some businesses and families. It also is not likely to be the end of the federal response to COVID-19, which will continue to have short- and long-term implications on businesses and individuals.

In this time of uncertainty, what additional assistance do businesses and families need, how can the government effectively and efficiently support reopening the economy, and what are the long-term budget implications?

We invite you to join Western Insights in a discussion with Tony Cook, Senior Manager at Larson Gross, Alex Brosseau, Senior Manager of Tax Policy at Deloitte, and Rachel Le Mieux, Partner at BDO. The discussion will be moderated by Jared Moore, Ph.D. and Associate Professor of Accounting at Western.

Western Insights is an online panel series created in response to COVID-19 to provide the broader region, Western alumni, friends, and students with access to information on current events drawing from the University’s nationally respected experts.
